    I've got an old 18" Zildjian (I think it was a symphony cymbal) that I was considering putting rivets in.........any advice as to how far from the edge and how many to install

    Hi there i'm not really sure how to put rivets on your cymbal i assume you'd have to drill holes in it etc... I don't think it's a good idea.You can choose another option to get that sizzle sound by adding a chain on your ride. I think sabian had one out especially made for that purpose.Or you could do it yourself,try mouting a ball chain something like that.Of course the result can vary depending on what material you use,and it is not as good as a real sizzle cymbal which has rivets ALL around the cymbal but you can try this it's better than hurting her [img]wink.gif[/img]

    The easiest (although not most professional) way to solve the problem is by using sellotape and a small coin.
    No, I think you should try to get professional help from people who have it before (you wouldn't want to ruin the cymbal). And three rivets perhaps?
